INFORMAL BEER LABELS
Beginning in 2019, Fermentery Form asked me to create labels for an ongoing series of beers that they call "Informal." The labels are letterpress printed by hand on a Kelsey 3x5 tabletop platen press, and designed with repurposed scrap plates, odd metal type sorts, and other random objects assembled into a pleasant abstract form, and printed onto extra cast-off papers from a variety of sources. This approach is intended to go hand-in-hand with the brewing process of this series of beers, which are assembled from interesting or unusual ingredients in small quantities and second-run fruit used in other recipes that still holds a lot of flavor. Informal #2 & #3 were draft-only, each packaged release has hand-printed labels. Editions run between 800 and 1300.
